Stewardship at Westwood
What is Stewardship?
Stewardship is broadly about taking care of something, nurturing it and being sure it can be viable for generations into the future. Stewardship in this sense is quite wonderful, tending to something so that it thrives and is sustainable.
Stewardship is our annual fundraising drive. We take care of our congregation's finances. We need to sustain Westwood, so that it can thrive and provide care and meaning to many more families and friends to come.

Dollars and sense
The Westwood Board has prepared a budget for next year with a small incremental overall increase of 5 percent. This is not a leap ahead but it is a time to strengthen our church to build, to steward. The budget includes small increases in programs and in our staffing costs.
Our 2011-12 target is a total budget of about $128,000. That is up slightly, 5 percent, from the $118,000 in this year's budget.
This is a reasonable and achievable target for Westwood.
Fanning the Flame
For us the flame is the symbol of spirit, of community, of unitarian values and of love. We fan it so that it may burn more brightly. Cast the light of our small flame more widely.
So Stewardship this year is about fanning the flame... each of us doing our part to sustain our congregation and be sure it can go strongly into a bright future.
There are more details on this in this year's Dollars and Sense brochure.
We sincerely thank you for contributions to Westwood, past, present and future,
