Topic: THE FIGHT FOR EQUITY FOR 2SLGBTQ+: Where We Have Been, Where We Are and Why

The  contemporary approach towards acknowledging and supporting the 2SLGBTQ+ community has typically been one of moving forward and becoming more progressive. However, in order to move forward, we must understand where we have been. The status and roles gender and sexually diverse people around the world have had taken away from them, rather than having never been . We will discuss where we have traveled in the fight for  justice and equity, and what we are missing.

There is an opportunity for ‘social time’ in break-out rooms following the service – a time to connect with friends old and new.

Our 2021-22 Westwood Theme is LIVING OUR UU PRINCIPLES. November is “The 2nd Principle: Justice, equity and compassion in human relations”.

Speaker: Glynnis Lieb

Service Leader: Dean Wood

Musicians: Carrie Day & Rebecca Patterson

Service Techs: Ilara Stefaniuk-Gaudet & Bill Lee
