National Youth Service September 16,  6:00 pm MT  

The National Youth Service,” Celebrating Life in a Time When Life is Limited,” was originally presented on July 19th. For safety reasons, it will not be posted publicly. If you missed it the first time or would like to watch it again, please join us for a screening on Zoom.

Coffee Chat Debrief – following UBC presentation by Dr. Makokis & Anthony Johnson – Wednesday, September 23,  5:15 pm MT  

In 2019, Dr. James Makokis and Anthony Johnson became the first two-spirit Indigenous couple to win The Amazing Race Canada. The pair used the competition as a platform to tackle topics like gender and sexual identity, racism, mental health, and the environment. The University of British Columbia (UBC) is featuring a talk by the couple who will share their personal transformations, from their early years facing adversity around two-spirit and Indigenous identities to a lifetime of education, transforming them into leaders, activists, and role models. Join the CUC immediately following the UBC presentation for a Coffee Chat debrief. Please register for the CUC Coffee ChatA separate registration is required for the UBC talk, which is not a CUC event.

Leaders Roundtable  Sunday, September 26, 10:00 am MT

Congregational leaders are invited to gather monthly to share ideas and insights with each other and CUC staff. Our conversations will explore different topics with the goal of supporting our congregations and each other as we navigate the post-pandemic world with resiliency and grace.

Fall Youth Con is being planned for the weekend of October 23-25 and is open to youth and advisors all over Canada. Watch for more details and registration information coming soon!

CUC National Virtual Conference

 The CUC 2020 National Fall and Regional Gathering will take place from Friday, November 13 to Sunday, November 15. Join us for regional conversations, interesting workshops, and a national Sunday Service. 

UUs are invited to gather  in their own regions, with a CUC staff host, to foster connections within the CUC regions. This will take place on the Friday evening of the National Conference. There will be conversations and reflections on items of significance suggested by those in each region, along with music and celebrations. Western (Albert, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, ON):  6:00-7:30 pm MT. There will be no cost to attend but registration is requested – details to come.
