2016-17 Theme of the year: Canadian Unitarians Exploring …

April Theme: Canadian Unitarians Exploring … Resistance

Welcome to April … to spring … and to our new monthly theme of Resistance.

Resistance. Resistance? Who picked this theme, anyway? Just thinking about it made mine rise. It took me forever to settle on sermon topics … column content … and the practice for our Sustaining Practices monthly gathering.

Who didn’t resist? The Children & Youth Religious Education (CYRE) team. Months ago, when they first heard the theme, they IMMEDIATELY volunteered to lead improv as our April 4th Friday activity. No Resistance there!

Is it a youthful quality – to freely engage with Resistance? Or is it just that they had a great idea, for a theme full of potential? (One of the tendencies of Resistance? Overthinking things! …sigh…)

Whether the new spring weather is slushy or sunny … we hope you conquer any Resistance you might be feeling … and join us at Westwood for some deep, rich, fabulous conversations and some wildly creative events. We are so much better, together. Really. Come on 😉

In love & resistance,

Reverend Anne
