  • The Board discussion focused in a big way on our priorities and plans for the the Fall.
  • Do Mark Your Calendars for these September events:
    •  Sunday September 6th @ 10:30AM “Open House service by Zoom
    •  Sunday September 6th, 2 PM – 3 PM, Water Drop-By & Drop-Off     Rev. Anne will host this ON-Site, in-person event for Westwoodians to take a few minutes to drop off your special summer water and to receive a Sunday Services kit (theme magnet, etc). Kits will be mailed to those who cannot drop by the front lawn of Westwood that afternoon.
    • September 13th @ 10:30 AM Ingathering & Water Service     It’s fun, interesting, and often moving to hear how Westwoodians experienced the wonderful, essential element of water over the summer. This service includes the installation of the new Board of Directors for the year.
  • Community Council Meeting, Saturday September 26th, 10AM – 12 noon.  All are welcome to attend. A special invite to committees chairs, and to anyone interested in the life and workings of Westwood.
  •   Please! MARK the DATE:  Congregational Meeting, October 17th @ 10AM       At this crucially important online meeting, our treasurer will present a financial update. As a congregation we will review realistic financial projections and discuss plans for the future of Westwood. The zoom meeting link to be sent out closer to the date.
  • Good News! Our treasurer reports that our 2020-21 budget is currently balanced, thanks to the federal government’s Canada Emergency Wage Supplement (CEWS), approved in part due to efforts made by our administrator, Elaine Jeong, and our treasurer, Jacqueline Willette. AND thanks to the generosity of all Westwoodians.
  • The Board has initiated a new task force as of this summer, the Innovative Strategies Task Force, which focuses on new ways of fund-raising for Westwood.  If you have an idea please feel free to contact Lorian by email:   strategies@westwoodunitarian.ca
  • The Board discussed initial plans and ideas for this year’s Winter Solstice Celebration. Anyone interested in participating on the committee please contact Dawn Hunter.
  • Next Westwood Board meeting will be held Wednesday September 9th @ 7 PM.  Feel free to contact President Brenda Jackson if you have any concern
