Festive facts from our December 6 meeting.
Following up on a November suggestion, the board along with Ilara met informally mid-month to share thoughts from a collective read of the book Fishing Tips. We’ll share suggestions after we have collected all the ideas.
Westwood has obtained copyright permission from CUC to show National Film Board documentaries for Social Justice film nights. Copyright guidelines apply to all films shown at church including children’s programming and workshops. We have also consulted Edmonton Public Library to get a list of public distribution films we can show.
The board approved a motion to work as partners with Dying with Dignity in making a documentary. A portion will be filmed in the church sanctuary.
Jacqueline requested we remind all committees to submit their budget estimates before end of the year. If your committee has already submitted figures, we thank you.
Several members commented on their roles in the upcoming Winter Solstice Celebration. As a reminder, the 30th annual event takes place at City Hall 7pm on Thursday December 21, 2017. It promises to be the biggest event of the year for Westwood.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
