Solstice at Westwood

Westwood Unitarian is taking a “Winter Solstice Rest” this year. We look forward to celebrating with you again in 2019.

The Winter Solstice has been celebrated by peoples of many nations and faiths for centuries.
Westwood has celebrated the Solstice in many ways for over 30 years.
Below you see a sample poster from the 2017 Solstice at Edmonton City Hall.

The Winter Solstice

2017 is Westwood Unitarian’s 30th Winter Solstice Celebration & the 10th held in the Atrium at City Hall.

The Winter Solstice marks the longest night & the shortest day of the year.  Across peoples & millennia, different faiths & traditions & those of no faith have celebrated in many ways the turn from deepest darkness to the return of light.
We honour & continue Winter Solstice traditions.
We call the directions, hear stories about the Solstice, sing, chant, remember, & look ahead.
Join us for Sharing the Light, our annual all-ages Winter Solstice service.
Come early, as this celebration is very well-attended.
Everyone is Welcome!
