The Westwood Board of Trustees met via Zoom on January 21 via Zoom. Here are the highlights:
- Winter Solstice – a big ‘Thank You’ to all the volunteers who pitched in their Time and Talent to make Westwood’s Winter Solstice Celebration such a beautiful and meaningful event for everyone involved. The special Solstice collection allowed for a generous donation to Water Warriors YEG, a group dedicated to “Bringing water, food, harm reduction and supplies to the people living rough on the streets of Edmonton.”
- Networking Events – Margo Long Consulting, along with the Board, are planning a couple of networking events in co-operation with some like-minded groups, with the aim of building connections in the wider community. Plans will be announced soon!
- Party! – There is a milestone birthday party – dinner, dance and games, for some special Westwoodians on Saturday, January 31. If you didn’t receive the information in the Friday announcements, contact rsvp@westwoodunitarian.ca for more information.
- Signage – the Board is narrowing in on a final quote for a new building sign and some lighting to go with it.
- Casino Sign-Up – Westwood’s charity casino is on June 16 & 17 (that’s a Tuesday and Wednesday) at the Grand Villa Casino in Roger’s Place. If you are able to volunteer for this important source of funds for Westwood programs, please sign up HERE. Many positions can be filled by non-Westwoodians, so ask a friend to volunteer with you – you can have a free meal and spend some time together!
