The Westwood Board of Trustees met on March 18, via Zoom. Here are the highlights:
Sara and Mitch, with input from the board, are working out an agreement with the Papaschase First Nation #136 Association on how best to handle sharing Westwood’s building and grounds. The board will be engaging a lawyer to inform our decisions.
A Potluck Celebration Stewardship Event will take place on Sunday, April 12 – stay tuned for details.
Are you Board material? Or interested in learning on the job? Please speak to any board member if you’d like to put your name in for nomination at the May annual general meeting.
CUC delegates – if you are interested in being one of Westwood’s delegates to the Canadian Unitarian Council Annual General Meeting on Saturday, May 23 please contact board@westwoodunitarian.ca.
Westwood played host to the first Fertile Ground- the Table Series-in cooperation with the Unitarian Church of Edmonton and the Greater Edmonton Alliance, in order “to build relationships, spark dialogue, and grow engaged community leaders.” There were lively discussions and high energy so we will plan another event in the future.
We are advertising again for a part- time paid Program Facilitator for our Sunday morning gatherings to provide more support for this important aspect of our community. Note the change in wording from Sunday morning “services” to “gatherings”. If you’d like a copy of the advertisement, please contact Elaine at info[at]westwoodunitarian.ca
