The Board of Trustees of the Westwood Unitarian Society met via Zoom on Wednesday, November 19.
Celebrate! The board acknowledged these recent events
- November 1 Special Congregational Meeting – the Board expressed their gratitude and delight that voting Westwood members unanimously supported changing our operating name from “Westwood Unitarian Congregation” to “Westwood Unitarian Community”. Some name changes are easier to accomplish than others, so please be patient while these changes are implemented.
- New Member Recognition – please help welcome Gray Jones and Stewart Padget, our newest Members, who were formally welcomed to the community during the November 9 service.
- Partnership Strategies with Margo Long Consulting – the board has met, and will continue to meet with Margo and her associate Jolene in order to build partnerships/connections with community groups that might be a good fit with Westwood.
- The Art of Wellbeing Workshop – this workshop, held in September and led by Karen Fraser-Gitlitz, was well-attended and well received and attracted people from outside of the regular Westwood community.
- Maker’s Market – Westwood hosted this craft fair on November 1. We had 14 vendors, with a variety of items for sale and about 150 people came through the door to take a look and to try their luck at winning a door prize. As well, Westwood ran a concession downstairs serving snacks and drinks.
