Topic: Time and Change

Rob Wiznura:

“Probably like you, I notice that, as the seasons change, we are not getting any younger. My own kids are living at the age I still feel myself to be! It’s very strange and startling.

Autumn is traditionally a time to reflect on passages and change, something Pete Seeger reflected on repeatedly throughout the tumultuous times he lived in, from the Depression to World War II to the Cold War with its blacklists and nuclear testing to environmental destruction to Vietnam and onwards. And tumultuous times are aggressively knocking at our door today with great alarum.

The beauty of singing together is that we realize that we are not facing things alone and that, together, we can push back with our unity and love. As Pete has written on his banjo, ‘this instrument surrounds hate and forces it to surrender.’ We need that, methinks, so come join us with voice in tow.”

Lay Leader: Rob Wiznura
Musicians: Harmonia, Rob, & Julie Forbes
Techs: Bill Lee, Julie Phillips & Lorian Kennedy
